Arm pain

Arm pain can significantly limit your daily life. Whether it's a tennis elbow from sports, RSI complaints from computer work, or tingling from a trapped nerve — at Fysio Willemspark in Amsterdam we find the cause and work specifically towards your recovery.

Do you recognize this?

  • Pain in the upper or lower arm during movement

  • Tingling or loss of strength in your arm or hand

  • Pain on the outside of the elbow (tennis elbow)

  • Pain on the inside of the elbow (golfer's elbow)

  • RSI complaints from repetitive movements or computer work

  • Pain when lifting, turning, or gripping

Possible causes

Arm complaints can range from tendonitis to nerve entrapment. A good diagnosis is the key to effective treatment.

  • Tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis)

Overloading of the wrist and finger extensor muscles causes pain on the outside of the elbow. Despite the name, this occurs not only in tennis players but also in computer users and manual workers.

  • Golfer's elbow (medial epicondylitis)

Similar to tennis elbow, but on the inside. The wrist and finger flexor muscles become overloaded, causing pain when gripping and turning.

  • RSI / CANS

Repetitive Strain Injury (or CANS) is caused by prolonged repetitive movements, often related to computer work. It causes pain, stiffness, and fatigue in the arm, wrist, and hand.

  • Trapped nerve

A nerve can become trapped in the neck, shoulder, or elbow. This causes radiating pain, tingling, or numbness in the arm or hand.

  • Overuse

A sudden increase in activity, unusual movements, or intensive sports can overload muscles and tendons in the arm. This leads to pain and reduced function.

Our approach

  1. 1

    Testing

Through various tests, we map out the reason you are experiencing arm complaints. Often there is more than one cause.

  2. 2

    Solving

Based on the test results, we identify where the solution lies. By treating your body, you immediately feel an improvement in your arm.

  3. 3

    Follow-up

By performing the same tests again, you immediately experience that moving and loading is easier again.
